Satinboard
Satinboard is a high quality range of timber lining products which are precision machined from sustainably managed species and pre-finished in satin lacquer to add the warmth and beauty of natural timber with minimal maintenance.
Comprising of precision machined tongue and groove lining boards and proprietary trim profiles, Satinboard is milled from genuine timber species and factory pre-finished to save time and hassle onsite. Installed to timber battens with adhesive and stainless brads, Satinboard lining has a V-joint secret-nail profile and is end-matched for minimal wastage and much faster installation.
Proven in WA for over 15 years and ideal for all applications which are not exposed to direct weather, the Satinboard coating system is UV cured for long term durability and is specially tinted to provide a richer more uniform appearance. Satinboard lining is supplied wrapped in plastic for protection during transport and the project is finished off with a range of matching pre-finished trims.

RAW CEDAR; Western Red Cedar is also available in a raw sanded finish for coating onsite. The back-side is still pre-coated to save sealing before installation.

SATINBOARD SPECIFICATION (COPY & PASTE)
All denoted areas are to be Satinboard pre-finished timber lining supplied by Blue Chip Group and installed by a qualified installer as per the below specification and in accordance with good commercial practice and any relevant codes or standards;
PRODUCT DETAILS
- The profile shall be (insert product) measuring (insert dimensions) and the species shall be (insert species), as per sample supplied by Blue Chip Group.
- The product shall be milled from the genuine species (not stained imitation wood) which is premium tight grain timber and seasoned for optimum stability.
- The product shall be precision machined to furniture grade tolerances and pre-sanded to minimum 240 grit finish prior to pre-finishing.
- The product shall be end-matched for less wastage and faster, neater installation.
- The trim products shall be (insert product) measuring (insert dimensions) and the species and timber specifications shall be the same as above.
PRE-FINISHED COATING
- The product shall be pre-finished on both sides with UV cured coating which is Australian made and factory applied to the manufacturers specifications.
- The coating shall be a polyurethane lacquer (not an oil based penetrating finish) to seal the timber and help maintain consistent moisture content and dimensional stability.
- The coating shall be specially tinted to provide enhanced richness and a more uniform appearance without hiding the warmth, character and natural variation of the timber species.
- The coating shall consist of multiple sealer coats (on both sides) and a final top-coat on the front face which has a satin gloss level for a beautiful even sheen without excessive reflectivity.
INSTALLATION & MAINTENANCE
- All timber products should be climatised as required onsite to ensure moisture and temperature equilibrium with the surrounding environment prior to installation.
- The sub-frame shall be level and aligned and consist of Straightline 42x18mm pre-primed battens supplied by Blue Chip Group and installed with countersunk screws at maximum 450mm centres.
- The product shall be installed perpendicular to the sub-frame using suitable adhesive and 25x1.2mm stainless steel brads which are secret-nailed at 450mm centres.
- The product shall be protected as required to ensure it is not exposed to direct weather such as sun, rain or salt spray. (If in doubt use raw sanded finish coated with a suitable exterior coating product)
- The product shall be cleaned and maintained as required to avoid any accumulation of surface contaminants and to maintain the desired performance and appearance.
